XML DOM - Element Object removeAttributeNS Method


Hello folks! welcome back to a new edition of our tutorial on XML DOM. In this tutorial, we will be discussing about the XML DOM Element Object removeAttributeNS Method.

The removeAttributeNS Method removes an attribute by local name and namespace URI.

Syntax

The following below is the syntax to use the Element Object removeAttributeNS method -

elementObj.removeAttributeNS(namespace,  attrName)

Parameter Details

namespace

It is a string specifying the namespace of the attribute.

attrName

It is a string that names the attribute to be removed from the current node.


Return Value

This XML DOM method returns an attr node for specified attribute.

Example

Following are the node_ns.xml contents -

   <Employee xmlns:e = "http://www.webdesigntutorialz.com/technical/" category = "technical">
      <e:FirstName e:lang = "en">Kennedy</e:FirstName>

Output

Save this file as elementmethod_removeattributens.html on the server's path (this file and node_ns.xml should be on the same path in your server). This is going to give us the following output below -

Before removing the attributeNS: en
After removing the attributeNS: null
