The below example illustrates the usage of the Element Object removeAttribute method -

<!DOCTYPE html>
         function loadXMLDoc(filename) {
            if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {
               xhttp = new XMLHttpRequest();
            } else // code for IE5 and IE6 {
               xhttp = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
            return xhttp.responseXML;
         xmlDoc = loadXMLDoc("/dom/node.xml");
         x = xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName('Employee');

         document.write("Before removing the attribute: ");

         document.write("After removing the attribute: ");

Save this file as elementmethod_removeattribute.html on the server's path (this file and node.xml should be on the same path in your server). This is going to give us the following output below -

Before removing the attribute: non-technical
After removing the attribute: null
