PHP | strtok() Function

Hello folks! welcome back to a new edition of our tutorial on PHP. In this tutorial guide, we are going to be studying about the PHP strtok() Function.

The PHP strtok() function is used to split a string into smaller strings (tokens).

syntax

Following below is the syntax to use this function -

strtok(string,split)

READ: PHP | strstr() Function

Parameter Details

Sr.No	Parameters & Description
1	string It specifies the string to split
2	split It specifies one or more split characters

Return Value

This function returns a string token, or false if no more tokens are available.

Example

Try out the example below -

<?php
   $input = "web design tutorialz best e-learning platform.";
   $token = strtok($input, " ");
   
   while ($token !== false){
      echo "$token<br>";
      $token = strtok(" ");
   }
?>

Output

When the above code is executed, it will produce the following result -

web 
design 
tutorialz 
best 
e-learning 
platform.
