Hello folks! welcome back to a new edition of our tutorial on PHP. In this tutorial guide, we are going to be studying about the PHP strchr() Function.

The strchr() Function searches for the first occurrence of a string inside another. This function is an alias of the strstr() function.

Note: This function is a case-sensitive and binary-safe function.

syntax

Following below is the syntax to use this function -

strchr(string,search,before_search);


Parameter Details

It returns the string to search

It returns the string to search for


Return Value

This function returns the rest of the string.

Example

Try out the example below -

   echo strchr("Hello world!","world");
?>

Output

When the above code is executed, it will produce the following result -

world!
