The PHP setlocale() function is used to set locale information.

syntax

Following below is the syntax to use this function -

string setlocale ( int $category , array $locale )


Parameter Details

It contains the information about what locale should be set

location

It contains the information about country or region


Return Value

It returns the new current locale, or false if the locale functionality is not implemented on your platform, the specified locale does not exist or the category name is invalid.

Try out the example below -

   echo setlocale(LC_ALL,"UK");
   echo "<br>";
   echo setlocale(LC_ALL,NULL);
?>

When the above code is executed, it will produce the following result -
