The built-in PHP md5_file() function is used to calculate the md5 hash of a given file.

syntax

Following below is the syntax to use this function -

string md5_file ( string $filename [, bool $raw_output = false ] )

raw_output

When TRUE, returns the digest in raw binary format with a length of 16.


Return Value

This built-in PHP function returns the string on success and false on failure.
