syntax
Following below is the syntax to use this function -
string md5 ( string $str [, bool $raw_output = false ] )
Parameter Details

1 | str It contains the information about string. |
2 | raw_output When TRUE, returns the digest in raw binary format with a length of 16. |
Return Value
This function in PHP returns the hash as a 32-character hexadecimal number.
Example
Try out the example below -
<?php $str = "webdesigntutorialz"; echo md5($str); ?>
Output
When the above code is executed, it will produce the following result -
8ac3a795b243fe5a5e0c970f31cd318
