The built-in PHP filegroup() function returns a group ID of the specified file.
The built-in PHP filegroup() function returns a group ID of the specified file.
Syntax
Following below is the syntax to use this function -
int filegroup ( string $filename )
This built-in PHP function can not be run on Windows systems, use the posix_getgrgid() function to covert the group ID to the group name.
Return Value
This built-in function can return an ID of the group to which the specified file belongs on success, else it returns false on failure.
Example
Try out the below example -
<?php $filename = "/PhpProject/sample.txt"; echo filegroup($filename); ?>
Output
When the above code is executed, it will produce the following result -
0
