The built-in PHP file() function reads the entire file into an array, and each element in the array is a corresponding line in the file, including line breaks.

Syntax

Following below is the syntax to use this function -

array file ( string $filename [, int $flags = 0 [, resource $context ]] )


Example

Try out the below example -

<?php
   print_r(file("/PhpProject/sample.txt"));
?> 

Output

When the above code is executed, it will produce the following result -

  Array
(
    [0] => Webdesigntutorialz

    [1] => Webdesign

    [2] => WDT
)
