PHP file() Function


Hello folks! welcome back to a new edition of our tutorial on PHP. In this tutorial guide, we are going to be studying about the PHP file() Function.

The PHP file() function reads the entire file into an array, and each element in the array is a corresponding line in the file, including line breaks.

Syntax

Following below is the syntax to use this function -

array file ( string $filename [, int $flags = 0 [, resource $context ]] )


Example

Try out the below example -

<?php
   print_r(file("/PhpProject/sample.txt"));
?> 

Output

When the above code is executed, it will produce the following result -

  Array
(
    [0] => Webdesigntutorialz

    [1] => Webdesign

    [2] => WDT
)
