Hello dear readers! welcome back to another edition of our tutorial on PHP. In this tutorial guide, we are going to be discussing about PHP easter_days() Function.

The PHP easter_days() function returns the number of days after March 21 on which Easter falls for a given year. If no year is specified, then the current year is assumed.

Syntax

Following below is the syntax to use this function -

easter_days ( [$year [, $method]] );

Parameter Details

method(Optional)

It allows to calculate Easter dates based on other calendars. e.g. it uses the Gregorian calendar during the years 1582 - 1752 when set to CAL_EASTER_ROMAN


Return Value

This built-in PHP function returns the number of days after March 21 on which the Easter fall for the given year.

Example

Try out the below example -

   echo easter_days(1999)."\n";
   echo easter_days(1492)."\n"; 
   echo easter_days(1913);
?> 

Output

When the above code is executed, it will produce the following result -

14
32
2
