Hello folks! welcome back to a new edition of our tutorial on PHP. In this tutorial guide, we are going to be studying about the PHP cal_days_in_month() Function.

The built-in cal_days_in_month() function in PHP returns back the number of days in the month of year for the specified calendar.

Syntax

Following below is the syntax to use this function -

cal_days_in_month ( $calendar, $month, $year );


Parameter Details

calendar(Required)

Calendar to use for calculation.

month(Required)

Month in the selected calendar

year(Required)

Year in the selected calendar


Return Value

This function returns the length in days of the selected month in the given calendar.

Example

Try out the below example -

<?php
   $num = cal_days_in_month(CAL_GREGORIAN, 11, 2020);
   echo "There was $num days in Nov 2020";
?> 

Output

When the above code is executed, it will produce the following result -

There was 30 days in Nov 2020
