Hello dear readers! welcome back to another section of my tutorial on PHP. In this tutorial guide, we will be discussing about the PHP Assignment Operators.

Try the following example below to have a proper understanding of all the assignment operators. Copy and paste the following codes in a text.php file and save the file in your PHP Server's document root and then browse it using any Web browser.

<html>

   <head>
      <title>Assignment Operators</title>
   </head>

   <body>

      <?php
         $a = 42;
         $b = 20;

         $c = $a + $b;
         echo "Addtion Operation Result: $c <br/>";

         $c += $a;
         echo "Add AND Assigment Operation Result: $c <br/>";

         $c -= $a;
         echo "Subtract AND Assignment Operation Result: $c <br/>";

         $c *= $a;
         echo "Multiply AND Assignment Operation Result: $c <br/>";

         $c /= $a;
         echo "Division AND Assignment Operation Result: $c <br/>";

         $c %= $a;
         echo "Modulus AND Assignment Operation Result: $c <br/>";
      ?>

   </body>
</html>

Output

When the above code is executed, it will produce the following result -
