Python List extend() Method with example



Hello guys! Welcome back to another section of my tutorial on Python. In this tutorial guide, we are going to be studying about Python List extend() method.

The Python List extend() function appends the contents of sequence to a list.

Syntax

The following below is the syntax for Python List extend() method -

list.extend( seq )


Parameter Details

  • seq - This is the list of elements.

Return Value

This method does not return any value, but does an update on the existing list.

Example

The following below is a simple example -

#!/usr/bin/python

aList = [123, 'xyz', 'paul', 'abc', 123];
bList = [2020, 'gift'];
aList.extend(bList)
print "Extended List : ", aList 

Output
Below is the output of the above example -

Extended List :  [123, 'xyz', 'paul', 'abc', 123, 2020, 'gift']
