Python String isdigit() Method



Hello dear readers! Welcome back to another edition of our tutorial on Python. In this tutorial guide, we are going to be discussing about the Python String Isdigit() method.

The Python String isdigit() method checks whether the string consists of digits only.

Syntax

The following below is the syntax for Python String isdigit() method -

str.isdigit()


Parameter Details

  • NA.

Return Value

It returns True if all characters in the string are digits or there is at least a character, else it returns False.

Example

The following below is a simple example -

#!/usr/bin/python

str = "123456";  # Only digit in this string
print str.isdigit()

str = "this is string example....wow!!!";
print str.isdigit()

Output
Below is the output of the above example -

True
False
