Hello dear readers! Welcome back to another edition of our tutorial on WordPress. In this tutorial post, we will discuss about the background images, background colors and background opacity.
The following below are the simple steps to set custom backgrounds in WordPress -
Step 1 - Click on Appearance → Background.

Step 1 - Click on Appearance → Background.
Step 2 - The following page get displayed where the Background Image section shows up.

Step 3 - No selected image yet for the background. If you want to do so, then click on Select Image. The following page will be displayed.
Here you can upload images using two options -
- Upload Files
- Media Library
Step 4 - Upload Files - When you click on Upload Files. The screen below is displayed. Select the files from your computer and then click on the Choose Image if you are ok with the image.

Step 5 - Media Library - When you click on the Media Library the following page appears. You can select files from WordPress media library, which means, if you already have some images uploaded then you can select any of them.
After selecting an image, on the right side you will be shown with a few options -
- Edit Image - When you click on this you are then taken to another page where you can edit your image. As shown in the screenshot below, make the required changes, click on Save and finally click on Update.

- Delete Permanently - If you want your uploaded image to be removed from the library, then click on this button.
- URL - Enter your image URL into this box.
- Title - If you decide to make any changes to the title of the image, this is the right place for it.
- Caption - You can give a brief explanation about your image here.
- Alt Text - Give an alternative text to your image so that it is easily available for the users during search.
- Description - Give a short description about the image here.
Step 6 - Click on the Colors → Background Color on the same page. Change your background color.
Background Opacity isn't used for all themes. Theme Customization is not the same for every theme we use. It changes from theme to theme.
