Hello dear readers! Welcome back to another edition of our tutorial on WordPress. In this tutorial guide, we will be discussing about how to transfer your WordPress to a new hosting platform.
For the purpose of this tutorial, we are making use of the Hostinger web hosting in transferring the site to another host.
The following are the simple steps on how to Migrate your WordPress site to another host -
Step 1 - Keep the backup of the WordPress files and export the database. This will be discussed in details in our subsequent tutorials.
Step 2 - Login to your cPanel and click on MSQL Database as shown in the below screenshot.
For the purpose of this tutorial, we are making use of the Hostinger web hosting in transferring the site to another host.

Step 2 - Login to your cPanel and click on MSQL Database as shown in the below screenshot.

Step 3 - Create a new database and MySQL user as shown in the below screen.
The page has the following fields -
- MySQL Database Name - Enter your database name in this field.
- MySQL Username - Enter your username.
- Password - Set password for database.
- Password again - Repeat the same password as before for authentication.
After filling out all the fields, click on the Create button.
Step 4 - You can view your created MySQL database, User and Host as shown below.

Step 5 - Click on the + symbol.
Step 6 - Click on phpMyAdmin.
Step 7 - Click on Import tab on the phpMyAdmin page.

Step 8 - Click on Choose File button to select the backup from your computer and click on the Go button.
Step 9 - You can view the tables of database you uploaded as shown in the below screen.
Step 10 - Upload your WordPress files by using the transfer protocol (FileZilla).

Step 12 - In the Website section of the hostinger click on the Auto Installer.

Step 13 - You can now view the uploaded WordPress file. Click on the URL link as shown below.
Step 14 - You can now view the login page of WordPress.
