How to Add a New Post in WordPress



Hello dear readers! Welcome back to another edition of our tutorial on WordPress. In this tutorial post, we will be sharing with you guys steps to successfully add a new post in WordPress.

Posts are also known as articles, and at times referred to as blogs or blog posts. These are used to grow and increase the visibility of your blog.

Following are the simple steps to Add Posts to your blog -

Step 1 - Click on the Posts → Add New button.



Step 2 - You will get the editor page of the Post as shown in the screenshot below. You can use the WordPress WYSIWYG editor in order to add the actual content of your post. We will discuss about the WordPress WYSIWYG editor in details in subsequent tutorials.


The following are the fields on the editor page of the Add Post Page of WordPress -

  • Post Title - Enter the title of the post here.
  • Post Content - Enter the content of your post.

RECOMMENDED POST: Css Measurement Units

Step 3 - Click on Publish button to publish your post.


Following are the other options available in the Publish section -

  • Save Draft - It saves the post as a draft.
  • Preview - You can preview your post before you publish it.
  • Move to Trash - Deletes the post.
  • Status - You can change the status of your post as either Published, Pending or Review Draft.
  • Visibility - You can change the visibility of your post as Public, Private or Password Protected.
  • Published - Here you can change the published post date and time.
